FDSUBC is holding auditions for the upcoming 2009/2010 season. We have a lot of great things planned; including performances, competitions, fundraisers, retreats, and even travelling!
The goal of the team this year will be to train hard, improve, have fun, and compete at the *Dance by the Shore* collegiate dance competition in San Diego at the beginning of March.
Of course great plans need great people to make them happen, so come out for auditions and be part of the team!
The audition will consists of two separate days.
DAY ONE:
July 21st - 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Everyone will do some basic technique for warm up and then learn a short routine choreographed by the coach.
DAY TWO:
July 23rd - 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Everyone will again do some basic technique for warm up and then perform the routines they previously learned, which will be evaluated by the coach. A questionnaire will also be given.
We are looking for 8 to 10 talented couples to complete our team. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the club. Hope to see all of you there!
Making sure that everyone is on the same page, the auditions that were set for the end of April will be postponed.
Thank you very much for your support! Please email if you have any questions or concerns.
It's nearing IFB and the proposed audition dates. We are still in the process of finding a coach and as auditions need to be fair, the exec have decided that auditions will only happen if it is judged by the coach themselves. That being said, we will shift the dates of the auditions as necessary.
We will keep this website updated with the latest audition information. Please email if you have any questions. ubcformation@gmail.com
Thanks!

Welcome!
Thank you for your interest in joining the Formation Team. The purpose of the info session tonight is to answer a few of your questions and help you get the idea of what the Formation Team is and what is expected.
This year is the first year that FDS has held and open audition at the beginning of the school year. Our mandate is to provide a platform for people to pursue competitive team dancing as well as nurture interest in competitive ballroom. Formation Teams provides an opportunity for exponential growth in dancing. The learning curve can be steep, but the rewards are gratifying.
Purpose of the Auditions Team A is formed in April and we are currently short a couple of members. We are looking for more individuals who are interested in competing and performing on this team. Team A has started working on a routine with Ekaterina Mitchenko.
We are also looking for new members to start a Team B. This is a pilot project and enthusiasm and dedication is what is required for this team. People who are interested in improving and learning are invited to audition. The purpose of this team is to bridge the gap between tech class/social dancing and the competitive dancing of Team A. Though this pilot project is based on this idea of graduated progression, the finalized Team B will be able to make their own goals. [ie. If competition is what Team B wants, competition is what Team B gets.] Zillion Wong has accepted our request in coaching Team B
So please sign up for Auditions and indicate whether you would like to Audition for Team A, Team B or both.
Good luck and have a great weekend!

It's an exciting beginning here at FDUBC. The official unveiling of this website in it's final creation is just a couple weeks away and we are hoping to get everyone (the team and the exec, anyone else) to get some input on the layout and the body text.
We still have to somehow find a way to get this to the top of the search...
